Alzheimer Disease, a growing public health problem, is a neurodegenerative pathology characterized by a decrease in cognition associated with morphological changes of the brain. Early identification of AD and other dementias could extend the wellbeing of patients; however, few early-warning methods currently exists to aid non-specialized personnel, thus hindering diagnosis.

Our aim is to explore and propose image representations, multimodal fusion strategies, and indexing methods in order to create large multimodal pathology-oriented content-based retrieval systems for brain images to support identification of dementias such as Alzheimer Disease (AD), Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Fronto Temporal Dementia (DFT) and Bipolar Affective Disorder (BAD).
